Mom’s nikyu aikido test was today. She passed! Good job Mom. We went out to Acapulco’s for lunch with everyone afterward. (That’s Sensei Mark on the left and Shirlee on the right. Thanks guest photographer Gary.)

“That’s me. It’s just that the lights are out.” I put on a dance for Mom and Dad.
“Making a lion out of pompom balls and googly eyes and glue and pieces of foam that are sticky on the back. Also sticks that you can twirl around because there’s some wire in the middle and they’re all fuzzy.”
Lots of birthday presents means lots of thank you notes. I’m writing them all myself, so it’s taking a while. (Mom drew some clockwork faeries for the front.)
