Dear Diary,

Mom and Dad say they accepted an offer on the house today. But I don’t see how, since they were never on the roof.

    Sarah: The English language can be so confusing some times. The phrase “on the house” doesn’t mean they were literally “on the house”, it means the offer was “free”. In other words, someone offered to take the house for nothing.
