Eila’s birthday party was a luau! On the beach!

Did you know my mom was born in Hawaii? I come by the hula honestly.

Strangely though, Dad took me to the party and Mom stayed home.

And here’s the aikido piñata finished. Oooh. It’s heavy. Sensei is going to love it tomorrow!

Went back to the optometrist to have my frames fitted.

Dad got some piano books for learning to play.

Mom is also making an aikido piñata for Sensei’s birthday party.

It’s not a death piñata or anything. See? Friiieeendly.

Tom and I are painting a dragon on Mike and Gary (from aikido)’s ‘death machine.’ Mom keeps pointing out that with no moving parts it isn’t really a machine.

I would like to point out that they asked Mom to do this.

M: Okay go sort out your clothes from the laundry and put them away.
S: No!
M: You can pretend they’re prey.
S: Yes!

(Editor’s note: Much laundry was hunted. Not so much put away.)
