Orchiectomy Bear

In 2006, my husband Mark and good friend Julianne each lost a gonad to cancer. We each didn't know what the other was going through at the time, but found out later that they may in fact have been in surgery at the same time (one in Nashville, the other in Chicago). I drew this one for Mark while I was waiting for him to get out of surgery. Julianne's was drawn a few days later after they called and told us what had been going on with them. In the middle of all the worry and stress, it was a strangely funny synchronicity.
